headman treats elders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE headman of Omapumba village, Tatekulu Iiyambo Nghisheekwa, has initiated a new tradition by celebrating the New Year with elders from his village.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 48 elders aged 65 and above were chosen to partake in the New Year celebrations, where they were shown love and care through a well-prepared lunch as part of hosting the elders.<\/p>\n<p>Nghisheekwa plans to make this an annual event for the elders in his community.<\/p>\n<p>He called on all the elders to contribute to positive change in the lives of the youths in the community, aiming to be a generation of hope for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Nghisheekwa urged the elders to motivate the youths in their households to work hard, emphasizing the favourable rainfall as a good opportunity to start working on the mahangu field early and prevent hunger.<\/p>\n\r\n
