{"id":61430,"date":"2024-01-13T15:53:56","date_gmt":"2024-01-13T15:53:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\/all-news\/farmers-allowed-to-graze-in-angola"},"modified":"2024-01-13T16:41:18","modified_gmt":"2024-01-13T16:41:18","slug":"farmers-allowed-to-graze-in-angola","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\/all-news\/farmers-allowed-to-graze-in-angola","title":{"rendered":"Farmers allowed to graze in Angola"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>LIVESTOCK farmers from Namibia have been granted permission to allow their animals to graze in Angola, but they are reminded to adhere to the regulations in place in the neighbouring country.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, conveyed this information during a meeting with farmers on Friday at Helao Nafidi in the Ohangwena Region.<\/p>\n<p>Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasized that this gesture is a demonstration of the longstanding strong bonds of friendship, solidarity, and supreme sacrifice, which continue to characterize the warm and excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and their peoples.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, the goodwill shown does not imply that the activities of Namibian farmers, or any Namibian national, should violate the laws of Angola,\u201d she cautioned.<\/p>\n<p>She further added that, just as Angolan nationals must comply with Namibia\u2019s laws within its territory, Namibian farmers grazing in Angola are expected to respect and follow the regulations of the host country.<\/p>\n<p>As a sovereign state, Nandi-Ndaitwah pointed out that Angola has the right to enforce its laws and regulate the activities of all Namibians within its territory, including those farmers permitted to graze.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, she clarified that the Namibian government does not endorse any behaviour by its citizens that goes against the laws of Angola.
