Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) received a significant boost to its medical supplies on Thursday, with the donation of surgical gloves worth N$2.6 million from Cospharm Investment.<\/p>\n

This contribution is set to alleviate the current shortage of disposable gloves in clinics and hospitals nationwide, ensuring better infection control and patient care across Namibia.<\/p>\n

Cospharm Investment, a prominent pharmaceutical company, operates in Southern Africa, including Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, and remotely in Zambia.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s growth is attributed to its deep understanding of the regulatory environment and market dynamics within these territories.<\/p>\n

Fabiola Vahekeni, the Acting Director of the Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services at the health ministry, emphasized the timely nature of this donation.<\/p>\n

\u201cGloves are essential in our health facilities for nearly all observations and procedures as part of our infection control measures. This contribution from Cospharm Investment is crucial in our ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of diseases,\u201d Vahekeni explained.<\/p>\n

She also highlighted the importance of being prepared for potential health crises, referencing a recent cholera outbreak in a neighbouring country.<\/p>\n

The donated gloves are seen as a vital resource in ensuring Namibia\u2019s readiness to combat similar outbreaks.<\/p>\n

Vahekeni commended Cospharm Investment for their generous support and called upon other stakeholders to follow suit in aiding the ministry\u2019s mission to provide comprehensive healthcare services.<\/p>\n

Elina Veijo, the General Manager of Cospharm Investment, expressed the company\u2019s commitment to partnering with the MoHSS.<\/p>\n
