Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>In a display of community engagement and support, Change makers of the Capricorn Group dedicated their efforts to enhance the educational environment for learners at the School for the Visually and the School for the Hearing Impaired.<\/p>\n

More than 30 volunteers from Capricorn Group and its subsidiaries, Capricorn Asset Management and Bank Windhoek, came together to donate essential items, carry out renovations, and engage in playful activities with the learners.<\/p>\n

The day-long initiative saw the Changemakers undertaking a range of activities designed to improve the schools\u2019 facilities and provide the learners with a more conducive learning environment.<\/p>\n

Renovations included painting, laying of interlocking pavers, and playground enhancements, alongside interactive sessions such as games, arts and crafts, and learning sign language with the children.<\/p>\n

In the lead-up to the event, Capricorn employees responded generously to a call for donations, contributing exercise books, rulers, erasers, pens, glue, mathematical sets, calculators, and toiletries.<\/p>\n

Capricorn Asset Management made a significant contribution by sponsoring stationery and toiletries for 75 children at the school for the hearing impaired, in addition to funding the installation of 2 toilets in the hall.<\/p>\n

Marlize Horn, the Capricorn Group\u2019s Executive of Brand and Corporate Affairs, stressed the importance of inclusivity in education and expressed pride in the Group\u2019s efforts to support the two special schools with learning materials.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur substantial contribution will undoubtedly create a more conducive learning environment for the learners, underscoring our commitment to inclusivity and quality education,\u201d Horn said.<\/p>\n

Alice Bauleth, the Principal of the Hearing-Impaired School, expressed her deep gratitude towards the Capricorn Group for their generosity.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt touched my heart to see people care enough to support our learners. This donation will make a significant difference, especially for those who arrived without any toiletries,\u201d Bauleth remarked.<\/p>\n

The donation drive saw an overwhelming response from Capricorn employees, with many going above and beyond to purchase additional items for the schools.<\/p>\n

The Bank Windhoek Operations Support and Properties in Possession team highlighted the importance of equality and inclusivity by saying: \u201cWe believe in equality, and as a collective, we all benefit from extending support to these special schools. We hope our contribution will help foster a more inclusive learning environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Capricorn Group\u2019s involvement in this initiative is a testament to its commitment to giving back to the community and supporting inclusive education and literacy.<\/p>\n

Through their actions, the Changemakers have not only made a tangible impact on the lives of the learners but have also set a powerful example of corporate social responsibility and community support.<\/p>\n
