Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>R\u00f6ssing Uranium and the Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) R\u00f6ssing Branch Executive Committee (BEC) recently concluded negotiations for salary increments for 2022 and 2023 within a month of negotiating.<\/p>\n

The two-year salary agreement was signed on Thursday 25 November 2021 for the Bargaining Unit employees comprising Grade 1 to 11 and L Band. The agreement provides employees with a 4% increase in 2022, and again 4% in 2023. The parties also agreed to a once-off lump sum, which will be payable in December 2021 to Grade 1 to 11 employees.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the signing of the agreement, R\u00f6ssing Uranium\u2019s manager for employee relations Kondja Kaulinge expressed gratitude to the MUN Branch Executive team for the mature and constructive way they conducted themselves in exploring all options towards an amicable conclusion of the wages negotiations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe negotiations were undertaken in a mutually cooperative spirit with both parties sharing a common understanding of the challenges facing the business,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On his part, MUN R\u00f6ssing branch acting chairman Stanslaus limbondi expressed his gratitude for the way the company handled the negotiation process. He noted that as partners, they aimed to achieve job security and ensure employees are working in a conducive environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was not easy for us, especially going back to our members and for us to agree, but I am glad that we eventually reached a conclusion, which was done through a voting process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
