Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>AC Boxing Promotions yesterday announced that they will have their first boxing bonanza of the year at the Roman Catholic Hall in Windhoek next month.<\/p>\n

The boxing bonanza will be headlined by the stable\u2019s top prospect, Flame \u2018Special One\u2019 Nangolo, while Walter Kautondokwa and Vikapita Meroro will also be returning to the ring following a lengthy layoff.<\/p>\n

Meroro will face Simeone Shafodino in the super middleweight division, while Kautondokwa will battle Sirongo Kasera in the super middleweight division.<\/p>\n

According to Immanuel \u2018Imms\u2019 Moses, the founder of AC Boxing Promotions, the event is aimed at raising funds for the stable to complete their boxing gym, which is currently under construction, as well as honouring the late Namibian president Hage Geingob.<\/p>\n

He added that the aim of constructing the gym was to empower young and aspiring boxers so they could uplift up-and-coming boxers. \u201cThe main reason for this boxing bonanza is for us to raise funds that will be used to complete our gym, which is being constructed at Eros Primary School. I believe having our own gym would be the right way to empower our boxers. We do box to raise awareness as well as help create job opportunities for these young ones who are on the streets. We urge boxing fans to come in numbers and support our event by buying tickets, and we promise to bring the best bouts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his return and readiness Kautondokwa, who last fought back in 2019, when he squared it off against Chinese Kazakhstani professional boxer Kanat Islam and lost on a unanimous decision, said he is happy to make a comeback after a three-year layoff. He added that his fans should expect the best fight on his return.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am happy to be back. I know my fans have missed watching me in action, but I can promise them now that I will be in the ring on the 13th of April, and they should expect nothing but fireworks. My opponent is someone I know, and I believe he doesn\u2019t stand a chance against me,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Flame Nangolo, who has yet to learn who his opponent is, said, \u201cI am a boxer, and I stay ready for my fight. I still don\u2019t know who my opponent is, so I don\u2019t have much to say, but more will be said when I know who my opponent is,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Also fighting on the night will be Robert Ndalelwa against Joseph Ampweya in junior welterweight and Johannes Andreas against an opponent yet to be announced in the same weight category (junior lightweight).<\/p>\n

In the lightweight division, Ruan Raspel will take on Sakaria Kennedy, while Petrus Salom will have a chance to test his skills when he takes on Martin Kampulu.<\/p>\n
