Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup has produced some surprising exits, with pre-tournament favourites Khomas among the regions which have waved the tournament goodbye.<\/p>\n

Khomas has failed to advance to the next round of the tournament after failing to collect maximum points in both its encounters on Friday.<\/p>\n

The region played to a 1-1 stalemate against Oshikoto in its opening game, and also drew its second game against Hardap later in the day.<\/p>\n

The Khomas run was brought to an end on Saturday morning as group leaders Oshikoto and second-placed Hardap played to a stalemate, which ruined Khomas\u2019 chances of qualifying.<\/p>\n

By virtue of Oshikoto\u2019s qualification, Hardap and Zambezi joins Khomas on the curb and will play for formalities in their remaining matches.<\/p>\n

In group B, the Kavango teams\u2019 chances of progressing are hanging by a thread.<\/p>\n

The group is set to be decided, depending on how the match between Oshana and Kavango East ends.<\/p>\n

Kunene, which is also in this group, however, has no chance of qualifying for the knockout stages after only managing one point from two first matches.<\/p>\n
