Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The highly-anticipated showdown between Kaizen Football Academy (KFA) and Collin Benjamin Sports (CBS) at the Jan Mo\u0308hr football field produced a thrilling league encounter over the weekend.<\/p>\n

The match was filled with tension and excitement, as both teams battled fiercely for dominance on the field.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, it was KFA who emerged victorious, clinching a hard-fought 1-0 win over CBS.<\/p>\n

Despite the narrow scoreline, the match was anything but dull.<\/p>\n

Both teams showcased their skill and determination throughout the game, creating numerous scoring opportunities, and keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.<\/p>\n

However, it was KFA who managed to capitalise on their chances, securing three crucial points in the league standings.<\/p>\n

James Britz felt his boys performed way below average against their opponents, which made him wonder what team was on the field in that league match.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not the KFA that was playing today. I think our boys looked lost on the field. There was no structure, and it also showed that the fitness was not there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, we have not played any friendly games recently, so it might be because of a lack of fitness. The other problem we have is some of the boys have not been attending training on a regular basis, but the majority of them came,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n

Britz said his charges were supposed to stay active and play some friendly matches to keep up their match fitness.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis performance was not up to KFA\u2019s standard of football. But we will take this to the drawing board again, and rectify the mistake we made of not letting them play friendlies, which we will change in the future,\u201d he ended.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere<\/p>\n

The clash between Windhoek Gymnasium (WHK Gym) and Dokkies Schmidt Football Academy (DSFA) was described as a clash of titans, marked by hard-stopping moments and breathtaking play.<\/p>\n

In a match characterised by a number of fouls, missed penalties and soaring shots, DSFA managed one point with a hard-fought 1-1 in their U\/17 league match.<\/p>\n

The two sides met each other for the first time this season, which proved to be a humdinger of a match for both parents and players.<\/p>\n

Sylvester Murangi, coach of WHK Gym, felt the match was \u2018okay\u2019 on his terms, as this was their first time playing against DSFA.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started well, but as the game progressed, our goalkeeper got injured. We also had some errors from our right back, which resulted in us making a sub in the first 20 minutes,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Murangi pointed out that his charges were a little bit unfit, but they managed to come back with a goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cDSFA came with a different tempo in the second half, but it was a good game from both sides.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fisharo Tjitandi said it was not the ideal game he had in mind, but they could at least register a draw in the end.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt least we got a point out of it, which is a positive sign. The main thing was we got a lot of positives that outweighed the negatives, so we are good to go,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
