Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Namibian footballer Lubeni Haukongo said his side, Cape Town Spurs, getting relegated from the DStv Premiership after one season in the top league is a big blow.<\/p>\n

Haukongo, who spoke to this publication from South Africa, said the situation is frustrating for all the players, with Spurs only having recorded five victories in 28 matches with 19 defeats and four draws, the result that made their season a nightmare. He said what makes it worse is the fact that he has been out of action for close to three months due to a torn muscle he suffered while in action against AmaZulu at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on 17 February.<\/p>\n

On top of that, he was left out of the Brave Warriors’ 52-man squad, which started training yesterday in Windhoek to gear up for the Fifa World Cup qualifying clashes on 5 and 11 June, respectively, as well as the Cosafa Cup tournament that will kick off mid-June.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are things which come with injuries. It\u2019s frustrating, but next season I will be fine,\u201d said the player.<\/p>\n

He added that his contract with Spurs ends in June. However, he has not received any other offers, and he will use the time to focus on rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have already started jogging, as the healing process is going well. I have accepted everything that has happened. Now, I need to just focus on getting fit. I, however, wish the Warriors the best. I know they will do well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
