Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>President Nangolo Mbumba has urged police officers patrolling the borders to allow Namibians to import mahangu from Angola.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mbumba made the call at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ondonga Heritage Shrine in the Oshikoto region on Friday.<\/p>\n

He acknowledged that some citizens blame him for the country\u2019s drought but said he has no control over the weather.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The president pointed out that neighboring countries like Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi are also experiencing drought.<\/p>\n

He suggested that those seeking maize could look to Tanzania for imports, while those in need of mahangu could obtain it from Angola.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice officers, please allow those coming into the country with sacks of mahangu to enter freely,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
