Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The northern towns of Tsumeb and Oshakati will host the third and fourth rounds of the Nedbank for Good Golf Series, which makes a welcome return following a month-long break.<\/p>\n

On 8 June, the series will start in Tsumeb, and then move to Oshakati on 22 June.<\/p>\n

Series coordinator Dan Zwiebel said everything is ready for touring the northern region.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year, we had a successful tour to the northern regions, with Tsumeb garnering a staggering 80 players, and Oshakati 25 players. We are hoping to get the same numbers as last year or more,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Registration for the event is ongoing in both towns.<\/p>\n

Last year in Tsumeb, Videlis Hanganda won the men\u2019s division, and Ruanda de Beer won the ladies\u2019 division.<\/p>\n

In Oshakati, Antonius Amugongo emerged victorious in the men\u2019s division, and Eveline Shilongo won the women\u2019s division.<\/p>\n

This year, the series aims to raise funds for Agra ProVision, whose goal is to train, service and support underserved agricultural communities directly.<\/p>\n

In addition, more competitions will continue throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Hosting towns in the southern region are as follows: Mariental (13 July), Oranjemund (3 August), Henties Bay (17 August), Swakopmund (24 August), Walvis Bay (31 August) and Windhoek (14 September).<\/p>\n

The Omeya Golf Estate on the outskirts of Windhoek will host the series final on 4 October.<\/p>\n

Nedbank Namibia spokesperson Selma Kaulinge said the series represents their commitment to the community and growth in Namibia.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy investing in the knowledge and skills of disadvantaged farmers, we empower them to cultivate sustainable futures and thrive in their industries. We are not just playing a round of golf. We are planting seeds for a better tomorrow,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She further gave a brief history on the series.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the series started in 2020 as the Nedbank for Autism, our efforts were geared to assist the Autism Association of Namibia. The Nedbank for Autism Series\u2019 stint ended in 2022, with over half- a-million Namibia Dollars having been raised. With the Good Series, we aim to reach a wider spectrum of initiatives, like what we are doing with the AGRA ProVision team.\u201d<\/p>\n

The series is co-sponsored by official media partner Future Media, AfricaOnline, Agra, APS, CB Enterprises, Erongo Marine Enterprises, Gondwana Collection Namibia, JTC Namibia, Pupkewitz Megabuild, Pupkewitz Toyota, Logistics Company Namibia and Vivo Energy Namibia.<\/p>\n
