Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Bunya village in the Kapako constituency of Kavango West region received a brick wall kindergarten on Monday as a donation from Netagea Investment (Pty) Ltd, which is a beneficiary of the government fishing quotas.<\/p>\n

All quota beneficiaries are required to give back to the community as part of their corporate social responsibility.<\/p>\n

The kindergarten was constructed to the tune of<\/p>\n

N$77 074.<\/p>\n

It is the first of its kind in the village, which is earmarked as a settlement.<\/p>\n

Before the good Samaritans chipped in, the kindergarten was previously operated from a shade built with corrugated roof sheets.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started the kindergarten at the church. In the church yard, we built our shade, and we taught the pupils there. Parents were happy, and they brought their children. We started with 45 learners, and at that time there was no grade 0 at Bunya combined school,\u201d said Benedicta Kadira, one of the teachers and founders of the kindergarten.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started with a N$10 monthly fee. We are doing it for the love, and not the money. Towards the end of 2023, I got a call that some good Samaritan wants to support someone who has never been granted donor support before, and they came to investigate. They were content, and they gave us this building. We are indeed grateful, and now many kids will be brought here because we are no longer teaching in the open space, but in a building,\u2019\u2019 Kadira said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur journey to this moment began with a vision to positively contribute to the education sector. We heard about Kadira\u2019s passion for teaching, and further investigations revealed that she is trained to be a pre-primary teacher through the ministry of gender equality. She made efforts to teach the community babies at the community church premise,\u2019\u2019 said Netagea chairperson, Naftalie !Gaoseb. Previously, Netagea donated a printer to a school in the marginalised community in the Ruacana constituency, and a water pump to an orphanage in Tsumeb. Recently, they donated a temporary structure of a boys and girls hostel at Mburu-uru primary school in Kavango West.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce again, we are here to celebrate the beautiful occasion of the official donation handover of this brand-new kindergarten building. At Netagea, we believe in the power of education to transform lives and uplift communities. We recognise that early childhood education lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning, growth and success,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

Netagea recognises the need for women\u2019s empowerment, hence the decision to empower Kadira with a kindergarten building.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were so deeply touched by her persistence and passion for teaching that we decided to build a kindergarten for her to serve the children of the community better,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
