Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Capricorn Group and its subsidiaries Capricorn Asset Management and Capricorn Private Wealth proudly announced the expansion of its sponsorship agreement with Cricket Namibia (CN) to include the U\/19 women\u2019s cricket team.<\/p>\n

This further strengthens its commitment to developing women\u2019s cricket in Namibia.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made at the opening ceremony of the U\/19 Capricorn Eagles’ series against Zimbabwe in Windhoek on Monday.<\/p>\n

It is in addition to the group\u2019s sponsorship of the Namibian national women\u2019s cricket team, known as the Capricorn Eagles.<\/p>\n

Capricorn Group became the primary sponsor of women\u2019s cricket in 2021.<\/p>\n

With the recent inclusion of the U\/19 team, this sponsorship to date exceeds N$1,4 million in support of the development of women\u2019s cricket.<\/p>\n

Capricorn Group\u2019s financial support further enables CN to host festivals, training camps and competitions, creating a supportive environment for the sport\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the group contributes new equipment and essential resources for developing women\u2019s cricket.<\/p>\n

At the sponsorship announcement, Marlize Horn, Group Executive: Brand and Corporate Affairs, expressed her enthusiasm, stating that it is an honour to support the expansion of women\u2019s cricket in Namibia by investing in the U\/19 team.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur continued support of women\u2019s cricket in Namibia demonstrates the group\u2019s commitment to making a positive impact on our communities. We take pride in our Capricorn Eagles, and are excited to be part of the journey to develop younger players.\u201d<\/p>\n

The group acknowledges the outstanding achievements of the Eagles, who have reached significant milestones, including a global ranking of 23rd and a top three position in Africa.<\/p>\n

Johan Muller, the CEO of CN, expressed gratitude to the group. \u201cCN is extremely grateful for yet another area of support from Capricorn.<\/p>\n

They are official partners to our women\u2019s side, and have been the reason for us to be able to drive and focus on the women\u2019s game, and they further that support with the U\/19 women\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s team will be known as the U\/19 Capricorn Eagles.<\/p>\n

They will play in the upcoming qualifier, and hopefully qualify for the U\/19 World Cup next year.<\/p>\n

We want to express our sincere thanks to them as a group, and for their continuous support towards cricket and specifically women\u2019s cricket in this country,\u201d said Muller.<\/p>\n
