Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security says it is working to make Namibia the safest country in the world.<\/b><\/p>\n

Home affairs minister Albert Kawana says this will be accomplished through its new customer service charter.<\/p>\n

Kawana was speaking at the launch of the charter on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The document details how the ministry promises to work with its customers.<\/p>\n

Kawana said the purpose of the charter is to enable customers to receive the best of the ministry\u2019s services by offering Namibians first-class service.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not here to just launch another document, but to witness an assurance by this ministry to provide a yardstick in service provision on par with the first world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The charter has been translated into Oshiwambo, Silozi, Rukwangali, Afrikaans, Otjiherero, Setswana, Khoekhoegowab and Braille.<\/p>\n

Kawana said the ministry pledges to ensure that customer satisfaction is taken into account by asking what effect decisions would have on customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese promises are in their domain, and we expect them to judge us based on what we promised them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
