Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>On Monday, the health minister Kalumbi Shangula announced that 72 patients were in hospitals countrywide. However, today the country’s hospitalisations figures shot up to 110 cases, with 710 new infections reported.<\/b><\/p>\n

The country also recorded one new death linked to the coronavirus, as well as 58 recoveries, Shangula said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Out of the 110 people in hospital, 10 patients are in intensive care units.<\/p>\n

The 710 new infections include 60 pupils, 16 health care workers, 14 students and eight teachers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Khomas region recorded the highest number of new cases, totalling 328, making up 46,2% of the total confirmed cases,\u201d Shangula said.<\/p>\n

Confirmed cases: 134 154<\/p>\n

Recoveries: 126 206<\/p>\n

Active cases: 4 439<\/p>\n

Deaths: 3 579<\/p>\n
