Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>BRANDS such as Tassenberg, Savanna, Hunters Dry, and Hunters Gold will now be bottled, filled, and packaged in Namibia instead of South Africa.<\/p>\n

This was announced by President Nangolo Mbumba, who explained that this will reduce Namibia\u2019s reliance on imports and create more opportunities for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He made these remarks at the Official Opening of the Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) New Wine Packaging Facility.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s occasion marks the conclusion of the N$394 million investment, which includes the construction of a new packaging hall, installation of a state-of-the-art wine packaging line, and warehouse expansion. This investment reflects NBL\u2019s commitment to strengthening local manufacturing capacity, creating jobs, and earning Namibia more foreign currency through exports,\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n

He added that the commissioning of the NBL new wine packaging line is a testament to the successful partnership between the private sector and the public sector, which provides a conducive business environment for investment. The president revealed that more than 14 local companies were involved in the construction of the venture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe inclusion of Namibian-owned businesses is a testament to NBL\u2019s commitment to playing its rightful role in the growth of our economy,\u201d President Mbumba said.<\/p>\n

The president highlighted that NBL currently supports a diverse workforce of 953 individuals, with half of the management team being women.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand that the company also works closely with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and has invested N$25 million in their development. Furthermore, the company has been a significant driver of our economy, contributing a total of N$3 billion in taxes, customs, and excise duties over the past three years,\u201d the president revealed.<\/p>\n\r\n
