Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>President Nangolo Mbumba says there is an urgent need to create wealth and job opportunities for all Namibians \u2013 especially the youth.<\/b><\/p>\n

He said this at the Heroes Day commemoration event at Omuthiya on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have said several times that we should be in a hurry to develop and grow our economy so that every citizen can benefit,\u201d Mbumba said.<\/p>\n

He said citizens must proactively empower themselves through education and training to acquire the skills needed to participate in the second struggle for economic freedom.<\/p>\n

According to the president, Namibia has made significant progress in recent years towards developing a green economy for the export of green hydrogen.<\/p>\n

\u201cEqually, the discovery of oil in the offshore Orange Basin and the potential development of the Kudu gas fields are set to propel Namibia to becoming a major oil and gas producer in sub-Saharan Africa,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mbumba said this would unlock many business opportunities for Namibians.<\/p>\n
