Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>In the quest to return to Namibia\u2019s top-flight football scene, Life Fighters have recently appointed a new board of directors to lead the club on an interim basis.<\/p>\n

The Otjiwarongo-based team was relegated from the Debmarine Premier League last season, and will now feature in the Northern Stream First Division.<\/p>\n

The term of office for the interim board is six months. Moses Kangumba, who was the chairperson of the supporters club, is now the new board chairperson.<\/p>\n

He has been at the helm of the supporters\u2019 club for many years, and will be deputised by Barnabas Seun Tjizu as vice chairperson. The secretarial role of the club is in the hands of Sedney Kavehaha Karukongo.<\/p>\n

The financial affairs of the club will be under the stewardship of Johannes Kazeundja, who was elected as treasurer, whereas Harold Hamauka scooped the public relations officer portfolio.<\/p>\n

Reja Kala Kambanda is the team manager, of a club better known as Kahirona.<\/p>\n

Two additional board members are Kaupundirue Tjaverua and Kevin Hitjii. Club president Samble Kuhanga said the appointed members possess a wealth of knowledge and diverse perspectives, which will enhance the club\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these individuals are born in this club, and will foster a stronger community engagement and drive the club towards achieving its goals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kuhanga added that the club has confidence in the leadership, and will thrive in the world of football.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to their guidance and working together to advance our club\u2019s mission,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

On his part, the newly-elected board chairperson said the prime aim of the club is to return to the top-tier league.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will play teams from as far as the northern region, and we have vast experience as we played in the same league before. It would not be easy, but we will do our best to get back to the Premier League,\u201d Kangumba enthused.<\/p>\n

The chairperson added that teams such Golden Bees from Outjo, Okakarara Young Warriors and Outjo Football Academy will be a thorn in the flesh, but Life Fighters is prepared to face them all.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven the Grootfontein Military team is a challenging team, but we are ready, and Premier League football is all we want,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
