Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has brought its services closer to the community of the Oshana Region and surrounding areas at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF).<\/p>\n

NamRA spokesperson Tonateni Shidhudhu said they ensured NamRA enhanced its presence at this year\u2019s OATF with an improved exhibition stand.<\/p>\n

According to Shidhudhu, they have significantly upgraded their exhibition stand at this year\u2019s Ongwediva Trade Fair in response to public demand for a more accommodating and efficient service environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe newly designed stand, located outside the main exhibition hall, is more spacious, capable of comfortably accommodating over 50 people at a time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that this change comes after feedback from last year\u2019s participants, who expressed challenges with the limited space available in the previous indoor setup.<\/p>\n

Shidhudhu explained that the move to a larger, outdoor stand has been met with widespread approval from taxpayers, who have praised the orderly and efficient service delivery provided by NamRA this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cNamRA is one of the public institutions that visitors to the trade fair specifically look for,\u201d he added, noting that this year, they decided to respond to the community\u2019s demand and invest in an exhibition stand that is more accommodating.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal is to ensure that we provide services to the people in an efficient manner,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In addition to the larger space, NamRA has increased the number of booths available for taxpayers to file their returns and make general inquiries about tax and customs matters.<\/p>\n

This enhancement is part of NamRA\u2019s commitment to improving taxpayer services and making tax compliance more accessible to all.<\/p>\n

Shidhudhu expressed concern about the low number of people seeking assistance with customs-related inquiries.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of Tuesday, 500 people have visited our stand, but only 23 have come for customs-related queries. It is important that traders visit our stand to be educated on customs procedures, especially when it comes to the importation of goods,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

NamRA\u2019s participation in the 2024 Ongwediva Trade Fair underscores its dedication to engaging with the community and providing essential services in a manner that meets the needs and expectations of taxpayers.<\/p>\n

The agency\u2019s improved exhibition stand is a testament to its ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery and ensure that visitors to the trade fair have a positive and informative experience.<\/p>\n\r\n
