{"id":77508,"date":"2024-10-03T12:12:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-03T12:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\/all-news\/namibia-comes-second-at-trade-promotion-awards"},"modified":"2024-10-03T12:12:00","modified_gmt":"2024-10-03T12:12:00","slug":"namibia-comes-second-at-trade-promotion-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\/all-news\/namibia-comes-second-at-trade-promotion-awards","title":{"rendered":"Namibia comes second at trade promotion awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Namibia. <\/strong><\/span><b>Namibia was named runner-up in this year\u2019s World Trade Promotion Organisation Awards.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>According to a statement by Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) spokesperson Catherine Shipushu, the International Trade Centre announced on Tuesday that Namibia came second under the category \u2018Best Initiative to Ensure that Trade is Inclusive and Sustainable\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The awards, which celebrate innovation and leadership in trade promotion, recognise trade promotion organisations that support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to compete in international markets.<\/p>\n<p>Namibia was shortlisted alongside ApexBrazil, who were the category winners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrade and investment promotion organisations are key to growing economies in a sustainable way \u2013 including supporting small businesses to export \u2013 and today we\u2019re recognising the best among them, worldwide,\u201d said International Trade Centre executive director Pamela Coke-Hamilton.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe pledge to continue working with MSMEs in Namibia to ensure trade is inclusive, sustainable and that we will grow in accessing global markets,\u201d said Julia Muetudhana, the NIPDB\u2019s acting executive director of MSME development, innovation and acceleration.<\/p>\n<p>The executive director of the Dynamic Informal Traders Association, Tangeni Shindondola, welcomed Namibia\u2019s second spot as a positive development in the small businesses sector.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\">Namibia<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Namibia.
