Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Theo Mujoro, the former Chief Electoral and Referenda Officer of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN), has been unemployed since his term at the commission ended in June 2023.<\/p>\n

Mujoro expressed optimism that he will find employment again in the future to the Windhoek Observer on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the moment, I am unemployed, but I think I can still make it,\u201d said Mujoro.<\/p>\n

He said he is currently preparing to secure gainful employment next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to my experience, skills, and knowledge, I believe I can get a job next year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mujoro\u2019s comments come after some villagers at Tallismanus in the Otjombinde constituency of the Omaheke Region questioned his source of income to construct a large guest house despite being unemployed.<\/p>\n

He confirmed that he built a six-bedroom guesthouse in 2014 and is now just adding some amenities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI built my private guesthouse in Tallismanus in 2014, and it was inaugurated by then Omaheke Regional Governor, Festus Ueitele on 6 March 2015. It is a lie that I am building my guesthouse now. It has been in operation for close to 10 years. I am using proceeds from the guesthouse to add new amenities to the establishment,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

He explained that a portion of the funds came from money he saved during his more than 30 years of full-time government employment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI managed to save here and there. I am using that money to add some amenities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mujoro claimed those who are worried about his business expansion are simply jealous of him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaters will always create stories about you. I need to survive since I have no job,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mujoro was appointed as the chief electoral and referenda officer for a five-year term in 2018.<\/p>\n
