Many northern regions are faced with significant water disruptions due to supply issues.<\/p>\n

Ongwediva residents have gone without a consistent water supply for the past two weeks.<\/p>\n

Last week, Ongwediva town council\u2019s spokesperson Ottilie Shingenge informed the residents that they are experiencing intermediate water distribution challenges that are expected to last for an unspecified period.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur technical team is working around the clock to ensure that normal and uninterrupted water supply and distribution is restored. Thus, water will be closed every day to fill up the towers that supply water to different areas in and around town,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Residents stated that the water system is erratic, flowing and stopping at unpredictable times.<\/p>\n

Small business owners have expressed frustration over the erratic water of their town.<\/p>\n

They said they lost a lot over the past two weeks, especially the vetkoek and Kapana vendors, as water sometimes comes when they are not home, and disappears again.<\/p>\n

Shingenge said the water taps will be opened occasionally every day, once the towers are filled up.<\/p>\n

Thus, residents are advised to save water in containers, as water interruption continues to date.<\/p>\n

In Ohangwena, the region also experienced water distribution challenges due to pipe breakdowns.<\/p>\n

NamWater spokeswoman Lot Ndamanomhata said NamWater received a report of a pipe break on the Omakango-Omafo pipeline within the Helao Nafidi town council area over a week ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur technical team was on site, fixing and repairing the pipeline to restore normal water supply. The pipeline is fixed, and water supply has resumed during the morning hours on [last] Wednesday,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In early October, the ministry of water rescued many parts of the Oshikoto region that faced water crises.<\/p>\n

Some constituencies, like Eengodi, are battling with a water crisis.<\/p>\n
