Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Oshakati mayor Leonard Hango promises that his council will invest in improving essential services for residents.<\/p>\n

He made these remarks in his acceptance speech after being re-elected as mayor for a fourth consecutive term.<\/p>\n

Hango pledged that his leadership will invest in infrastructure, and create opportunities for economic growth and sustainable development in the town. Environmental sustainability would also be a priority on their agenda, as the council explores new initiatives and implements policies to protect the town in various ways.<\/p>\n

The mayor called for cooperation from all residents to help \u201celevate our town to another level.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYour voices, ideas and concerns are invaluable. Together, we will shape the future of Oshakati, ensuring it remains a place of opportunity and prosperity for all,\u201d said Hango.<\/p>\n

He further urged community members to keep their municipal service accounts in good standing, stressing that paying for these services enables the town\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank the people of Oshakati for your continued trust, resilience and partnership with us. Together, we have achieved much, but there is always more to do… I am confident that with your support, Oshakati will continue to thrive and flourish,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Hango is deputised by fellow Swapo councillor Puyeipawa Elifas, who also retained her position, while Hofni Mutota remains the chairperson of the management committee. Maria Mutumbulwa and Ruusa Frans were re-elected as members of the management committee. Independent Patriots for Change councillors Jerobeam Ndaamohamba and Pinehas Aluvilu will continue as ordinary members.<\/p>\n
