National Democratic Party (NDP) leader Martin Lukato this week launched the \u201cguerrilla campaigning strategy\u201d, a new strategy aimed at securing maximum votes.<\/p>\n

This tactic is derived from guerrilla warfare, a type of asymmetric warfare competition between opponents of unequal strength. It aims not simply to defeat an invading enemy but to win popular support and political influence at the enemy\u2019s cost.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur members across the country and those residing across Africa and the world are on the ground. Wherever they go, they have to say \u2018Vote for the NDP, vote for the NDP and vote for Lukato\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis message will go in all communities, and it will also go via all social media platforms.<\/p>\n

We are going to have rallies, but they will be limited because of our resources,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He said he withdrew from the presidential race due to his delayed presidential payment of N$20 000 to the finance ministry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, I was ready to contest both the National Assembly and presidential races. I met all the requirements to contest for the presidential race. At the deadlock of the registration, the payment of N$20 000 to be paid at the Ministry of Finance was delayed. That was the only last requirement pending. As a result of this, I withdrew from contesting for the presidential race,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe call upon all Namibian citizens to exercise their democratic rights and vote for the NDP to be their representatives in the upcoming parliamentary election race. Your vote is a powerful tool for shaping the future of our nation.<\/p>\n

We are committed to working tirelessly and creating a better tomorrow for all\u201d.<\/p>\n

Promises<\/p>\n

With his party\u2019s horns lifted in power by Namibia\u2019s vote during this year\u2019s elections, Lukato assured that rapists will receive life imprisonment. He stated that it is the party\u2019s mandate to abolish crime in the country.<\/p>\n

Additionally, he promised to change all the laws that impact the Namibian people.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe promise to write off all old pensioners\u2019 electricity and water bills, reduce the price of electricity and fuel, stop importing goods produced in our country, and come up with better terms and conditions for our investors so that they don\u2019t abuse our people,\u201d he promised.<\/p>\n
