He first put Eduardo Solunga clear to blast the ball into the net, and then intercepted a loose pass to put Quality 3-1 ahead.

With Quality pressing hard, Sebastiao Borges made it 4-1, while further goals by Salote, Solunga and Luis Solunga completed an emphatic 7-1 victory for Quality.

That put them three points clear at the top of the log, but their lead did not last long as Chile went to the top with a 7-0 victory against Windhoek Industrial aqnd Agricultural Society FC on Saturday.

Immanuel Angula gave Chile an early lead, but WIAS remained in contention until the closing stages of the first half when Chile’s pressure started to tell.

Jurgen van der Byl made it 2-0 before two goals in quick succession by Kimon Solomon gave them a comfortable 4-0 lead at the break.

WIAS tried hard to get back into the match in the second half with Frans Nawadiseb and Brave Mootu leading their attacks, but Chile sealed the result with three goals in three minutes by Wesley Otto and Martin Humphries (two) to run out comfortable victors.

That put them back at the top of the log on 18 points, but it’s close as they only have a three-goal lead over Quality on goal difference.

Windhoek Futsal Club, meanwhile, joined Ballers on 15 points, going third on goal difference, after a 6-3 win against X Men on Saturday.

WFC’s goals were scored by Nanguehi Kamatuka, Denzel Mulunga, Ndevakulila Nauta, Phillimon Muhongo, Daniel Dausab and Dahlin Kandjala, while Damian Walters (two) and Dewalt Descande replied for the X Men.

Selecao are still within striking distance of the leaders, in fifth place on 13 points, after beating Knights FC 6-0 on Saturday. Reginald Willemse and Malone Berendse each scored a brace, and Vilo Lawrence and Shaquille Smith a goal apiece.

EFG Patriots moved up to sixth position on 10 points after beating 7 Kings FC 7-2 on Friday. Greg Cloete (two), Jamal Jacobs, Greyeno Rusberg, Peter Moller, Lota Mukasa and Claude-Will Swartbooi scored for Patriots, while Jefta Tjatjitua and T-Larow Swartbooi scored for 7 Kings.

In other premier league matches, Boston Madrid beat Flying V 4-2, Ineos FC beat Demia 4-2, and The Mavericks beat JAC Motors FC 6-3.

The battle for honours in the JSB Betting First Divison, meanwhile, is also hotting up as there were upsets in both the A and B first divisions.

In the A division the log leaders Julinho FC suffered a 3-2 defeat to Al Noor FC, while the B division leaders Athletic FC were thumped 5-1 by Santastico FC.

Julinho now lead the A division on 12 points, followed by Saintz FC on 12 and Samba Boys and Basics FC on 10 each, while Santastico lead the B division on 18 points, followed by Athletic on 15 and Emirates FC and 247Fitness FC on 12 points each.

For More News And Analysis About Namibia Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Namibia.
