Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Swapo deputy secretary general Uaherukua Herunga says the party is satisfied with the flow of special election results.<\/b><\/p>\n

He, however, calls on the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) to ensure a smoother process.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Desert Radio on Thursday, Herunga said the available results showed that the party was doing well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are seeing results that are coming from the diaspora, and we are doing okay.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope the ECN will solve some of the small problems before the 27 November elections,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Some of the glitches experienced by the ECN on Wednesday included ballot shortages at some polling stations, voters being rowdy, and some not being able to vote.<\/p>\n

Herunga\u2019s comments come after a string of results from the special voting exercise on Wednesday showed that the ruling party is performing better than other parties locally and internationally.<\/p>\n

The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC), Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) and Affirmative Repositioning (AR) are also garnering a reasonable number of votes.<\/p>\n

According to results received so far, Swapo presidential candidate Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah took 21 of the 33 votes counted in Havana, Cuba.<\/p>\n

The AR\u2019s Job Amupanda took six, followed by the IPC\u2019s Panduleni Itula with five.<\/p>\n

The PDM\u2019s McHenry Venaani received one vote.<\/p>\n

In Brazil Swapo garnered five of the six votes counted.<\/p>\n

In Berlin, Germany, Nandi-Ndaitwah got 45 votes, \u2060Itula 30, Venaani 15, Amupanda 14, and Landless People\u2019s Movement (\u2060LPM) candidate Bernadus Swartbooi three.<\/p>\n

In Brussels, Belgium, Nandi-Ndaitwah took the lead with 16 votes, and Itula garnered 13<\/p>\n
