Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span> THREE members of a family were injured, one seriously, while bravely fighting off four men who attacked them in their Omaruru home, with at least one suspect sustaining head injuries.<\/p>\n

According to Sergeant Anastasia Frans, Erongo Police Community Affairs Officer, four male suspects reportedly entered the family\u2019s house through an open door on Thursday around 21:00 while the family was watching television in the lounge.<\/p>\n

The men allegedly attacked them with knives and fists. Despite sustaining various degrees of injuries, the family fought back and the suspects fled empty-handed.<\/p>\n

Of the family, a 20-year-old male is in critical condition in the Windhoek MediClinic. He was stabbed in the chest and has broken ribs as well as other internal injuries sustained in the attack.<\/p>\n

A 53-year-old male sustained moderate injuries and a 57-year-old female was slightly injured.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is alleged that the suspects were also injured during the attack and one might have head injuries,\u201d Frans said.<\/p>\n

Two male suspects have been taken in for questioning.<\/p>\n

Police investigations continue.<\/p>\n
