Let us change our attitudes towards Covid-19 vaccinations and save lives.\u201d Ten deaths were reported on 30 December.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve deaths from eight districts were reported on 31 December, namely Windhoek (1), Gobabis (1), Onandjokwe (3), Okongo (1), Engela (1), Tsumeb (2), Oshakati (1) and Oshikuku (2). None of the deceased were vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>By 30 December, 343 860 people have completed the vaccination, translating to 22.9% of the target population. From 2 795 test results 865 new positive cases were reported, representing a 30.9% positivity ratio. The ages range from eight days to 96 years.<\/p>\n<p>The Erongo region recorded the highest number, namely 168, making up 19.4%, followed by Khomas with 138, constituting 15.9%, and Otjozondjupa with 119, constituting 13.7%.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also reporting 56 new re-infections, with Khomas recording the highest, namely eight, making up 14.2% of all new re-infections,\u201d the Minister said. Among the confirmed cases are 76 learners, 12 teachers, 14 students and 32 healthcare workers from different institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Nineteen cases have received one dose of the vaccine, 105 cases are fully vaccinated, seven received a booster dose and 18 vaccinated cases did not specify the number of doses received. Of the new cases, 716 are unvaccinated, accounting for 82.7%.<\/p>\n<p>The number of active cases is 14 925. Hospitalized cases are currently 323 across all regions, of which 35 are in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Eight of the hospitalized cases have received one dose of the vaccine while 34 are fully vaccinated. One case in ICU received one dose while three cases in ICU are fully vaccinated. The remainder of 31 (88.5%) are not vaccinated.
