Africa-Press<\/a> – Namibia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Cyclist Tristan de Lange, Paralympian Johannes Nambala and Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Christine Mboma are the biggest recipients from the sports ministry\u2019s Sport Reward Policy (SRP), which recognises and rewards local athletes for scooping accolades continentally and internationally.<\/p>\n

The ministry recently announced that the outstanding reward policy money owed to various winners from 2019 to date will be paid.<\/p>\n

\u201cRewarding athletes who have excelled at international sporting events is a motivation and encouragement to other athletes to also excel. Therefore, be informed that all outstanding and current reward monies due to athletes will be settled as the ministry has obtained the relevant funds,\u201d said the ministry\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with their respective coaches, the ministry indicated that the athletes will be rewarded for their remarkable performances at various international sporting games. The funds will be transferred directly into their banking accounts. Rewards are only for athletes who have won gold, silver or bronze medals.<\/p>\n

Tristan de Lange, 2x gold medals, cycling (N$160 000)<\/p>\n

Alexander Miller, silver medal, cycling (N$60 000)<\/p>\n

Silver Quinn Redding, silver medal, archery (N$60 000)<\/p>\n

Adriaan Grobler, silver medal, archery (N$60 000)<\/p>\n

Vera Adrian, 2x bronze medals, cycling (N$80 000)<\/p>\n

Jonas Junias Jonas, bronze medal, boxing (N$40 000)<\/p>\n

2019 World Paralympic Championships<\/b><\/p>\n

Johannes Nambala, 1 gold, 1 bronze, athletics (N$150 000)<\/p>\n

2019 Special Olympics Abu Dhabi<\/b><\/p>\n

Ruben Gowaseb, gold medal, athletics (N$40 000)<\/p>\n
