Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Job-hunting has become one of the most challenging tasks. This does not only apply to office work, but almost every work – be it domestic work, tendering, holiday jobs, cleaning and many more. It\u2019s true what they say: \u201cwhen the going gets tough, the tough get going.\u201d<\/p>\n

What almost everybody looking for a job goes through right now is unbelievable. Even if you met all the requirements for a particular position, it will not guarantee you success or appointment, because there will be thousands who meet the minimum requirements. Therefore, regard yourself lucky if you happen to be chosen from a pool of thousands of people.<\/p>\n

Could you imagine the pressure and depression one goes through after having applied for a hundred times and still remain out of work? And you meet people who tell you that \u201cyou are not trying hard enough\u201d. Such criticism adds more pressure to a person\u2019s mental health.<\/p>\n

Despite having a qualification, a graduate can do any other work to earn a living while they wait to secure a job they studied for. Who said someone cannot work in a shop, or at a car wash, just because they have a diploma or honours degree? We should learn to settle for opportunities life presents to us rather than starving because of our status.<\/p>\n

It is this way of thinking that\u2019s making us fail in life. We are more into criticising one another than building. We pay much attention to what people say about us, forgetting that we don\u2019t eat from the same kitchen. If we refrain from this kind of thinking and start building each other, we will create a nation of kind and generous souls.<\/p>\n
