Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>As from tomorrow, only travellers with Covid-19 certificates obtained on the Trusted Travel Platform or verified on the Global Haven systems will be allowed to exit or enter Namibia.<\/b><\/p>\n

This comes after the government introduced the Trusted Travel System (TTS), which is a new \u201cCovid pass\u201d. The TTS verifies the public health documentation of travellers during exit and entry across borders in Africa. This system is connected to the Global Haven worldwide platform.<\/p>\n

It was developed and introduced by the African Union Commission and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC). The ministry of health and Social Services on Monday confirmed that the use of the system will be compulsory for all travellers as from tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Initially, it was launched on 8 November, however, the government allowed the tourism industry to ease into the system through a transition period from 1 December to 14 January (today).<\/p>\n

All Covid-19-testing laboratories and ports of entry in Namibia and other African countries are connected to the system. According to the travel and tourism forum, travellers need to verify if the laboratory they are testing with is registered on TTS.<\/p>\n

Once tested, travellers’ results will be emailed or text-messaged with a link to the PanaBios website where they are able to access their TTS code and create a QR code on the website. On the website, travellers should enter their details including the airline name, seat number, flight, and passport number.<\/p>\n
