Des tirs retentissent dans la capitale, le chef de l\u2019\u00c9tat est arr\u00eat\u00e9 \u2013 ou fuit le pays quand il le peut \u2013 , un grad\u00e9 appara\u00eet sur les \u00e9crans pour revendiquer la prise de pouvoir au nom, le plus souvent, de la restauration de la d\u00e9mocratie\u2026 Si l\u2019on a pu penser un temps que la \u00ab tradition \u00bb des coups d\u2019\u00c9tat \u00e9tait un mauvais souvenir sur le continent, ces derniers mois ont apport\u00e9 un cinglant d\u00e9menti aux optimistes. La chute d\u2019Alpha Cond\u00e9 en Guin\u00e9e, renvers\u00e9 par le lieutenant-colonel Mamady Doumbouya, les coups d\u2019\u00c9tat men\u00e9s par Assimi Go\u00efta contre Ibrahim Boubacar Ke\u00efta, d\u2019abord, puis contre Bah N\u2019Daw. Des putschs qui ne sont que les derniers d\u2019une s\u00e9rie ininterrompue.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 l\u2019or\u00e9e des ann\u00e9es 1990, dans la foul\u00e9e des conf\u00e9rences nationales qui ont ouvert la voie au multipartisme dans de nombreux pays d\u2019Afrique de l\u2019Ouest, un vent d\u2019espoir a souffl\u00e9 allait-on voir, enfin, l\u2019alternance d\u00e9mocratique se faire par les urnes, dans le cadre de scrutins transparents et de campagnes \u00e9quitables\u2026 Las, ces trente et une derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, le continent a \u00e9t\u00e9 le th\u00e9\u00e2tre de 30 putschs. Trois coups d\u2019\u00c9tat sur quatre dans le monde ont lieu en Afrique, et l\u2019\u00e9tat des lieux est pire encore si l\u2019on resserre la focale sur la seule Afrique de l\u2019Ouest : Guin\u00e9e, Tchad, Mali, Niger ou encore Guin\u00e9e-Bissau.
