La plupart des projets qui y seront implant\u00e9s sont orient\u00e9s vers l\u2019exportation.<\/p>\n<p>La production d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne vert en Afrique devrait enregistrer une croissance exponentielle durant les prochaines ann\u00e9es pour atteindre 4 millions de tonnes en 2030 contre 0,01 million de tonnes en 2022, selon un rapport publi\u00e9 par le cabinet de recherche et d\u2019intelligence \u00e9conomique Rystad Energy.<\/p>\n<p>Le rapport, qui se base sur le portefeuille des projets d\u00e9j\u00e0 annonc\u00e9s ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, souligne que le continent africain et le Moyen-Orient sont les deux r\u00e9gions qui disposent du meilleur potentiel de production de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne par l\u2019\u00e9lectrolyse de l\u2019eau en utilisant une \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 issue exclusivement de sources renouvelables.<\/p>\n<p>Ces deux r\u00e9gions, qui sont capables de produire de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne vert \u00e0 des co\u00fbts comp\u00e9titifs par rapport aux autres r\u00e9gions du monde gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leurs abondantes ressources en termes d&rsquo;ensoleillement et de vent, devraient devenir de v\u00e9ritables hubs \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s dans l\u2019exportation de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne propre durant les prochaines d\u00e9cennies. D\u2019autant plus que la demande domestique pour cette \u00e9nergie ne sera pas forte au regard de la structure des \u00e9conomies en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient.<\/p>\n<p>A l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale, l&rsquo;Europe et l&rsquo;Am\u00e9rique du Nord resteront cependant en t\u00eate du classement des r\u00e9gions qui produiront les plus grands volumes d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne, tous types confondus, d\u2019ici 2030. Ces deux r\u00e9gions concentrent plus de la moiti\u00e9 des quelque 700 projets annonc\u00e9s au plan mondial. Elles devraient produire 24 millions de tonnes par an \u00e0 la fin de la d\u00e9cennie en cours sur une capacit\u00e9 mondiale de 40 millions de tonnes par an.<\/p>\n<p>Le rapport r\u00e9v\u00e8le \u00e9galement que 242 projets d\u2019usines d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne, tous types confondus, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 annonc\u00e9s en 2022. Ces projets repr\u00e9sentent une capacit\u00e9 de production cumul\u00e9e additionnelle de 22,5 millions de tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>Une forte demande en Asie, en Am\u00e9rique du Nord et en Europe<\/p>\n<p>Sur les projets annonc\u00e9s durant l\u2019ann\u00e9e \u00e9coul\u00e9e, 64% ont l&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne comme produit final, avec une capacit\u00e9 de production de 11 millions de tonnes et 25 % produiront de l&rsquo;ammoniac.<\/p>\n<p>Le reste des projets concernera la conversion de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne en m\u00e9thanol et en carburants synth\u00e9tiques.<\/p>\n<p>A l\u2019instar des ann\u00e9es pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes, l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne vert s\u2019est de nouveau taill\u00e9 la part du lion en 2022, repr\u00e9sentant 87 % de la capacit\u00e9 additionnelle annonc\u00e9e. Peu de changements ont \u00e9t\u00e9 constat\u00e9s pour l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne gris (produit \u00e0 partir des combustibles fossiles), bleu (produit \u00e0 partir des combustibles fossiles, mais d\u00e9carbon\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des techniques de captage et de stockage de carbone) et jaune (produit gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire).<\/p>\n<p>Durant l\u2019ann\u00e9e \u00e9coul\u00e9e, douze nouveaux pays ont d\u2019autre part adopt\u00e9 des strat\u00e9gies nationales comportant des objectifs en mati\u00e8re de production et d\u2019utilisation de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne, faisant passer le nombre de pays disposant de ce genre de strat\u00e9gies \u00e0 36.<\/p>\n<p>En outre, cinq pays, dont la Belgique et la Cor\u00e9e du Sud, ont actualis\u00e9 leurs strat\u00e9gies en 2022 pour revoir \u00e0 la hausse leurs objectifs.<\/p>\n<p>Rystad Energy indique par ailleurs que l&rsquo;Asie devrait afficher la plus forte demande d&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne d\u2019ici 2050. Alors que les \u00e9normes besoins des industries lourdes en Chine et Inde devraient \u00eatre probablement satisfaites gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la production domestique, le Japon et la Cor\u00e9e du Sud compteront davantage sur les importations de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne et de ses d\u00e9riv\u00e9s comme l\u2019ammoniac et le m\u00e9thanol.<\/p>\n<p>La demande devrait aussi augmenter en Europe et aux \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 partir de 2030, ce qui engendrerait un important d\u00e9ficit de l\u2019offre mondiale apr\u00e8s 2035.
