Trente ve\u0301hicules blinde\u0301s (de reconnaissance) de type BRDM-2, une vingtaine de mortiers et canons de 122mm, plus de 2 000 pistolets automatiques et de fusils d\u2019assaut AK47, ainsi que des munitions… Le Niger a re\u0301ceptionne\u0301 le 7 juillet du mate\u0301riel militaire offert par l\u2019E\u0301gypte pour l\u2019aider a\u0300 combattre les groupes jihadistes, a annonce\u0301 le ministe\u0300re nige\u0301rien de la De\u0301fense.<\/p>\n

Alkassoum Indatou, le ministre nige\u0301rien de la De\u0301fense, a salue\u0301 \u00ab ce geste hautement significatif \u00bb de l\u2019E\u0301gypte, qui \u00ab manifeste encore sa solidarite\u0301 \u00bb au Niger \u00ab dans un contexte se\u0301curitaire particulie\u0300rement difficile \u00bb au Sahel. L\u2019E\u0301gypte forme e\u0301galement des Forces spe\u0301ciales de l\u2019arme\u0301e nige\u0301rienne, a releve\u0301 Indatou, lors d\u2019une ce\u0301re\u0301monie en pre\u0301sence de l\u2019ambassadeur d\u2019E\u0301gypte au Niger.<\/p>\n

Soutien de la France et des E\u0301tats-Unis<\/b><\/p>\n

Le Niger est confronte\u0301 sur six de ses sept frontie\u0300res a\u0300 des bandits arme\u0301s ou des groupes jihadistes, comme le nige\u0301rian Boko Haram et l\u2019E\u0301tat islamique en Afrique de l\u2019Ouest (Iswap) dans l\u2019est, et d\u2019autres groupes jihadistes lie\u0301s a\u0300 Al-Qai\u0308da et a\u0300 l\u2019E\u0301tat islamique au grand Sahara (EIGS) dans l\u2019ouest.<\/p>\n

Dans sa lutte contre les jihadistes, le Niger be\u0301ne\u0301ficie du soutien de plusieurs pays occidentaux dont la France et les E\u0301tats-Unis, qui y ont des bases militaires. Quelque 1 500 soldats franc\u0327ais sont pre\u0301sents dans le pays.<\/p>\n

En outre, l\u2019UE a annonce\u0301 le 4 juillet renforcer son appui militaire pour combattre les groupes jihadistes. Le Niger \u00ab sera le premier pays africain \u00bb a\u0300 be\u0301ne\u0301ficier d\u2019une aide europe\u0301enne afin de doter ses forces en \u00ab e\u0301quipements a\u0300 caracte\u0300re le\u0301tal \u00bb, principalement des \u00ab munitions sophistique\u0301es pour he\u0301licopte\u0300res de combats \u00bb, a de\u0301clare\u0301 Josep Borrell, le chef de la diplomatie europe\u0301enne en visite a\u0300 Niamey.<\/p>\n
