Africa-Press<\/a> – Niger<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>\u00ab Il n\u2019y a pas de sous-m\u00e9tier \u00bb, dit un adage populaire. Ch\u00e9rif Omar, un jeune \u00e9boueur \u00e2g\u00e9 de 18 ans de la ville de Niamey puise toute sa force de travail.<\/p>\n

Alors que beaucoup de personnes n\u00e9gligent et m\u00e9prisent le travail de collecte de d\u00e9chets, Ch\u00e9rif, lui, y trouve plus qu\u2019un simple gagne-pain, mieux un m\u00e9tier d\u00e9cent.<\/p>\n

\u00ab J\u2019exerce ce m\u00e9tier depuis plus de 4ans. Actuellement, je travaille en collectif avec plusieurs camarades. C\u2019est parce que nous sommes bien organis\u00e9s que nous avons pu acqu\u00e9rir nos propres mat\u00e9riels aratoires \u00bb, confie Cherif Omar.<\/p>\n

Pour ce qui est des grands mat\u00e9riels comme les charrettes, \u00ab on les loue avec un monsieur au March\u00e9 Katako en raison de 1500 francs CFA par semaine et par charrette \u00bb, se r\u00e9jouit-il.<\/p>\n

Selon ce professionnel, leurs tarifs d\u2019\u00e9vacuation de d\u00e9chets varient selon les quartiers, expliquant que ce qui peut \u00eatre pay\u00e9 dans les quartiers modestes, peut \u00eatre le double ou le triple dans les quartiers \u2018\u2019nantis\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Notre r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration varie selon les quartiers. Par jour, je peux gagner entre 1000 francs CFA \u00e0 1500fr \u00bb, pr\u00e9cise-t-il.<\/p>\n

Selon ce jeune collecteur de d\u00e9chets, leur corporation ne dispose pas jusque-l\u00e0 de syndicat, mais le secteur sait bien d\u00e9fendre ses int\u00e9r\u00eats.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous n\u2019avons pas de syndicat ; mais quand il s\u2019agit de d\u00e9fendre nos int\u00e9r\u00eats, nous choisissons une personne de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence parmi nous, selon son s\u00e9rieux, pour nous repr\u00e9senter au niveau des autorit\u00e9s, ou partout o\u00f9 le besoin se fait sentir\u00bb, indique Cherif Omar.<\/p>\n

Selon lui, l\u2019un des probl\u00e8mes majeurs que lui et ses camarades rencontrent, c\u2019est l\u2019insuffisance et l\u2019\u00e9loignement des d\u00e9charges.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Le seul probl\u00e8me qu\u2019on a, c\u2019est les endroits pour d\u00e9verser les ordures. Les populations vivant \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des d\u00e9charges nous emp\u00eachent parfois de d\u00e9verser, arguant que nous rendons insalubres et invivables leurs cadres de vie et bloquons les passages \u00bb, rapporte le jeune \u00e9boueur.<\/p>\n

Aussi, mentionne-t-il, \u00ab au niveau de la mairie, nous n\u2019avons pas de probl\u00e8me avec eux. La seule chose que nous attendons d\u2019eux, c\u2019est de nous trouver un endroit o\u00f9 l\u2019on peut verser les ordures sans avoir de probl\u00e8mes avec les populations riveraines des d\u00e9charges \u00bb, souhait\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 le fait que le travail d\u2019\u00e9boueur soit mal vu dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, il reste, tout de m\u00eame, l\u2019un des m\u00e9tiers les plus indispensables \u00e0 l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de conditions de vie, notamment les conditions sanitaires des populations \u00e0 Niamey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
