EDOZIE SET TO JOIN CITY DESPITE CHELSEA INTEREST

Despite showing real interest in the Nigerian 16-year-old, who is currently playing for Millwall’s youth sides, Chelsea may yet miss out on Samuel Edozie.

Fellow Premier League club and champions Manchester City now look set to secure the youngster’s services, according to the Evening Standard.

Both City and Chelsea are known to have amazing youth set-ups that give their young players a chance to either go out on loan or make cameo appearances for the first team before hopefully cementing a place.

Scouts from both sides have watched Edozie at U16 games and the winger has most certainly impressed.

Naturally, Millwall are keen to hold on to Edozie, but the chance of being in and around a top-four side in the Premier League rather than the Championship reportedly appeals to the Nigerian.

City, who have reached the final of the FA Youth Cup four times in recent years, are not afraid to spend serious cash on their youth sides. Chelsea missed out on the Youth Cup this year, a competition that they have dominated this decade, so clearly want to strengthen.
