Africa-Press – Nigeria. Former presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Tuesday, urged relevant authorities to save communities from the flooding submerging Maiduguri and other parts of Borno State.
Kwankwaso said the flood situation in Maiduguri and other parts of Borno State is horrifying.
Posting on X, the former presidential candidate consoled the victims of flooding.
He wrote, “I have seen horrifying images from Maiduguri, where many parts of the city are submerged by water.
“I appeal to the authorities and those who can help to render all necessary assistance to safeguard the people and their communities.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the government and people of Borno State at this difficult time. – RMK”
Several parts of Maiduguri have witnessed massive flooding which has been linked to the overflowing of Alau Dam.
