Buhari applauds his govt on fight against graft

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday said his government had made considerable achievements in the fight against corruption, which over the years brought embarrassment to Nigeria before the international community

Regretting how corruption retarded development and dented the image of the country among the comity of nations, Buhari called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to intensify their efforts in the fight against graft.

He charged the EFCC to go after all corrupt Nigerians regardless of their profiles.

The President stated this during the passing out parade of cadets of the EFCC Superintendent Course 8 from the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.

He was represented and spoke at the event through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.

Buhari assured that his government would never relent from the fight against corruption, particularly cybercrime and financial crimes.

He added that his administration would see that corrupt persons were brought to justice.

“As part of efforts to boost the war against corruption in Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has trained a total of 328 new investigative officers at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna State.

“The training is to prepare them adequately ahead of their deployment as anti-graft investigators across the country.

“This colourful passing-out parade follows their completion of a year-long intensive training in the elite training institution,” he said.

While he called on the cadets to live above board, he told them to always know that much was expected from them in the administration fight against corruption.
