NSCIA warns 206 intending pilgrims from Edo against drug trafficking, others

Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Edo State chapter of the Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, has warned the 206 intending pilgrims from the state for this year’s Hajj to Saudi Arabia against dealing in drugs and other vices.

DAILY POST reports that Alhaji Abdulaziz Igbinidu, the State Chairman of NSCIA, gave the advice in a message to the intending pilgrims scheduled to depart for the Hajj on May 14, 2025.

According to him, there are dos and don’ts in Saudi Arabia. Once a pilgrim indulges in those things that are forbidden during pilgrimage, such a pilgrim will face the full wrath of the law.

“My advice to you is that as you are going for Hajj, this time is to be a good ambassador of Edo State and Nigeria.

“You should shun drug peddling because some people that attempted to push drugs there in the past paid dearly for it. So, they should follow the rules in order not to be a disgrace to Edo State and Nigeria,” he said.

He, however, charged them to obey the rules and regulations of the host country so that they can perform the Hajj successfully and get full reward from Allah.

He reminded them that there are some very important things that they must do to make the Hajj valid.

“You should follow the advice of the officials that are accompanying you in order not to miss any of the compulsory aspects of the Hajj,” he advised.
