NYSC extends service year for two corps members in Katsina

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Two National Youth Service Corps members in Katsina State, who are serving under the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1, have had their service year extended by National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, following disciplinary offenses.

NYSC Coordinator, Ibrahim Sa’idu, disclosed this when he addressed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday.

He said the corps members had committed various infractions contrary to NYSC laws, thus the reason their service year was prolonged.

On the other hand, the NYSC has honoured two corps members, Adeifan-Eniebukun and Joshua Amoswere-Agwale, for their outstanding performers in service during the year.

Both, according to Sa’idu, had the reputation of initiating and implementing meaningful community-based projects in their host communities.

At the low-key passing out ceremony held on Tuesday, 558 corps members fulfilled one year of compulsory service and received the Certificate of national service.

The coordinator challenged the outgoing corps members to optimize the skills learned under the NYSC’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development program.

He called on them not to be looking for government jobs, but instead take advantage and be their own bosses using the training received.
