Africa-Press – Nigeria. Tragedy struck on Monday night in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, as suspected bike snatchers shot and killed a commercial motorcyclist identified as Joseph Abeegye.
The incident reportedly occurred along Nyisom Wike Street, where the attackers ambushed the victim, fatally shot him and fled with his motorcycle.
Sources said that the assailants carried out the attack and escaped before security operatives could intervene.
Residents in the area have expressed fear over the rising cases of violent crimes in Makurdi, urging security agencies to intensify patrols and investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice.
As of the time of filing this report, police authorities were yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
