Boko Haram raid Yobe village, abduct four residents

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Tension gripped parts of Yobe State on Friday after four residents were whisked away by armed men suspected to be members of the Boko Haram insurgent group.

The attackers stormed two quiet villages—Goduram and Lojiya—in Tarmuwa Local Government Area during the early hours of the day, around 1:00 a.m., taking locals by surprise.

The victims of the abduction have been identified as Ari Tela and Goni Gadan from Goduram village, while Abakar Kakari and Aminami Lojiya were seized from Lojiya.

Community sources who spoke on condition of anonymity told Zagazola Mama that the area has a troubled past with insurgents and had recently witnessed a counter-insurgency operation under Operation Hadin Kai.

During that mission, local vigilantes reportedly killed a Boko Haram fighter.

Residents believe that Thursday night’s abduction may have been a calculated revenge attack.

Security forces, working alongside local vigilante groups, have since launched a manhunt for the abductors.

Efforts are ongoing to track their movements and safely rescue the kidnapped men.
