Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Executive Director, Patriots for the Advancement of Peace and Social Development, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has warned against negotiating with armed bandits.
Shinkafi, who issued this warning on Wednesday while answering questions on Arise Television, stressed it is not Islamic to negotiate with bandits or terrorists.
He said that armed bandits have posed a significant danger in the entire North-West region for more than a decade, adding that any peace deal entered with them would fail woefully.
“Any peace deal you’ve entered with armed bandits will fail woefully. These armed bandits are not reliable, they are not honest, they are not sincere.
“Whatever peace and reconciliation you enter into with them, at the end of the time, or at the end of some period of time, it will collapse.
“Zamfara state government’s previous administrations have entered into this peace deal with this bandit. Even the immediate past governor of Katsina state, Aminu Bello Masari has entered into a peace deal with these armed bandits, it has collapsed.
“So in accordance with the Islamic teachings and tradition, in all the scriptures of the Holy Quran, there was no provision going into a peace dialogue with armed bandits or terrorists. There was no such thing,” he said.
