Africa-Press – Nigeria. Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 45-year-old electrician who was electrocuted while attempting to reconnect power cables to an electric pole in the Shasha area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos.

According to Hundeyin, the tragic incident occurred on Saturday, August 10, at about 11:30 a.m.

“The electrician lost his life while reconnecting electricity cables to an electric pole at Shasha,” the statement read.

He explained that detectives were immediately deployed to the scene after the matter was reported. The victim was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital but was later confirmed dead by the attending doctor.

Hundeyin added that investigation into the incident was ongoing.
