Africa-Press – Nigeria. Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, working with the Police and Community Watch Corps, have repelled a fresh bandits attack in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama disclosed in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday that the incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday when gunmen invaded Gago and Ruwan Dorawa villages.
According to him, the attackers kidnapped two villagers identified as Labaran Jalli, 35, and Umma Sabon Gero, 30.
He added that three others, including a farmer, Labiru Umaru, and two vigilante members, Abba Mohammed and Suleman Shuaibu sustained gunshot injuries.
Makama noted that the troops, supported by the Police and vigilantes engaged the bandits in a gun battle, forcing them to retreat into the forest.
“The injured victims were later taken to the General Hospital, Dutsinma for treatment,” he added
Security forces have intensified patrols in the affected areas to restore peace and are making efforts to track down the attackers and rescue the abducted villagers.
