Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Police in Ebonyi State have confirmed the arrest of three persons in connection with the death of Master Ebuka Chukwu, a Senior Secondary School, SSS 2 student of Federal Government College Okposi in Ohaozara Local government Area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu stated this yesterday during a peaceful protest staged by the people of Okposi-Okwu community in Ohaozara LGA over the death of Master Ebuka Chukwu, who hailed from the area.
The protesting community members, carrying placards with inscriptions like “Who killed Ebuka?”, “Evil people are running FGC Okposi,” and “IGP, stop the killing and bring justice,” demanded answers and government intervention.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Mr Collins Agwu, expressed sadness and outrage, citing an autopsy result which confirmed that the Late Master Ebuka Chukwu was killed before being thrown into a stream to cover up.
Agwu questioned why a staff member of the college, Mr. Danjuma, allegedly directed the deceased Ebuka and other students to confront hoodlums.
“We want justice to prevail, and those behind Ebuka’s death to be unmasked,” Agwu said, adding that “The school management is playing politics with this incident.”
Chiadikaobi Obasi, a native of the community, lamented the alleged maltreatment of indigenous students and staff members by the school management, warning that the peaceful Okposi Okwu community should not be pushed to the wall.
The Vice Principal, Mr. Ojima O. Emmanuel, expressed shock over the death and assured protesters that the school would cooperate to uncover the circumstances surrounding Ebuka’s demise.
According to sources, the incident occurred on July 27, 2025, when Mr. Danjuma allegedly sent students, including the deceased Ebuka to confront hoodlums, which led to his death.
