Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has debunked a publication alleging that it suspended all party meetings due to a purported national crisis.
In a statement issued in Osogbo on Saturday and signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Jacob Ayodeji Areola, PDP described the report as false and mischievous.
The statement claimed that elements of the opposition, particularly the All Progressives Congress, APC, were behind the fake publication circulating across various media platforms.
“The said statement, deceitfully credited to our State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jacob Ayodeji Areola, is nothing but a fabrication from the desperate imagination of the jittery and rejected opposition in Osun State,” the statement read.
The party stated further: “For the avoidance of doubt, the Osun State PDP has not suspended any of its political or organisational activities at any level. Our structures remain intact, vibrant, and fully committed to supporting the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.”
The Osun PDP urged members of the public and its loyal supporters to disregard what it described as a fake report designed to mislead and create confusion.
The statement accused the opposition of attempting to remain relevant by spreading misinformation about the ruling party.
“The Osun PDP remains strong, focused, and united in its resolve to continue delivering good governance and sustainable development to the people of Osun State,” the statement disclosed.
Areola also disclosed that the party’s legal and security teams had begun moves to identify and prosecute those responsible for the forged statement.
He assured party members that the PDP in Osun State is stable and committed to ensuring Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election in 2026.
