Africa-Press – Nigeria. Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has warned politicians in the state, as well as their supporters, to stop creating division and animosity between him and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, as there is no rivalry or competition between them.

Gov. Mutfwang, who gave the warning during a reunion dinner of the Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA) held in Jos, insisted that though he and Nentawe belong to different political parties, they both have the overall interest of Plateau State at heart and have been working together for its progress.

He noted that as leaders of GOSA, where they both schooled, their relationship has been cordial despite not sharing the same political platform, and that any insinuation of rivalry or competition between them should be dismissed by politicians and their supporters.

He insisted that as true sons and lovers of Plateau State, he and Yilwatda do not see themselves as adversary as their supporters have made it seem.

While speaking during the dinner, Gov. Mutfwang said: “Myself and my brother Nentawe and I are not in competition in any way.

“I have prayed to God to stop those who are fueling division. The position Professor Nentawe occupies is not one versus the other. We can actually hold hands together and make the Plateau greater.

“There are discussion rooms I cannot enter, and there are discussion rooms he will not enter. But if both of us go in with the mind that we must bring something back home, it is for the good of our people.”

He stressed that the state stands to gain from a cordial working relationship between them, given the national and sub-national positions they hold and cautioned those he said were seeking to exploit his political differences with the APC National Chairman and himself for personal gain.

“Those of you who are in the habit of fueling hatred and division, may the Lord stop you. Instead of sowing seeds of discord, do all you can to promote our working together. The Lord will help us,” he prayed.
