Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Chairman of the Abia State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Amah Abraham, has said that a judgment from the Court of Appeal can displace the Federal High Court’s ruling on the party’s convention.
Abraham stated this on Wednesday while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television monitored .
Recall that the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice James Omotosho, stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcome of the forthcoming 2025 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A High Court in Oyo State on Tuesday ordered the PDP and the National Chairman of the party, Umar Damagum, to go ahead with the national convention scheduled for November 15 in Ibadan.
Reacting, Abraham said, “Sanity demands that the judgment of Justice Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, supersedes that of the State High Court in Ibadan. Thousands of PDP faithful, including myself, have subscribed to the Federal High Court judgment stopping the convention.
“Myself and every other person who believes in the rule of law and justice, and that things should take due process, will not participate in any congress that would take place without first having congresses in those states where congresses have not taken place.”
