Africa-Press – Nigeria. Former Manchester United boss, Alex Ferguson, has hailed the club’s young goalkeeper, Senne Lammens, noting that the Belgian has been ‘outstanding’ since moving to Old Trafford.

Following a very poor performance of Andre Onana, United were in the market for a new goalkeeper and ended up signing Lammens in an £18 million deal from Royal Antwerp.

The Belgian has looked solid in his first five appearances for the Red Devils so far and legendary United ex-manager, Ferguson says he has been impressed with the club’s summer signing.

Speaking with Receday RTV the Scott said, “Well, they are, the signs… the manager has had some good signs,” when asked if he is happy with the club’s performance so far.

“Particularly, the goalkeeper has been outstanding, he’s only played three or four games and he’s looking really good.

“Of course, Mbeumo and Cunha, the new players from Wolves and Brentford, they’ve added to it. I hope the manager gets a bit of success because at United you need to have success. The signs are getting better.

“I think back-to-back wins is something teams like United should always expect. But having gone through a cycle where the improvement has to come by waiting and being patient, they are enjoying it now.”

Before the international break, the Red Devils played out a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
